Tigerlily - Folder Structure
The Tigerlily's material is largely distributed between 5 folders: Welcome, Input, Process, Output, and Archive.
Welcome contains the home page, MOCs, and other notes (like this) which may be useful to guide first time visitors; and Archive contains non-essential data such as templates and older notes, along with images (and other media) that are referenced by other notes.
My main workflow revolves around the Input, Process, and Output folders. Each folder contains different kinds of notes, and ideas; but they mainly represent different stages of the learning process.
Input
Input contains "unprocessed" notes, or rather, simply, "new" notes. These notes are either fleeting (quick ideas I may have jotted down), or running notes, which I have taken while going through a course, or a book. Many of these notes will never be published, but the ideas they contain will be further refined into notes (in Process) that will be.
Process
Process contains the vast majority of the notes in the Tigerlily. These are where the notes from Input go once they have been reviewed and refined. These notes are divided into 4 more folders:
- Cards contain smaller notes that focus on a single concept.
- Docs contains notes that refer to authors, or entire books & courses, i.e., Docs are notes which mainly hold references to cards pertaining to a larger topic.
- Guides contains guides, which are notes I write to allow me to quickly review and revise a concept. It also helps in guiding visitors through the topics I am interested in.
- Tidbits contains smaller notes on vocabulary, quotes, etc.
Output
Output houses notes on the projects I have worked on, as well as essays I have written. On the local repo, this folder is full of Kanban notes and Canvas notes, that I use for planning and working on current/new projects - but these will never be visible on the website. Instead I hope to use the web counterpart as a sort of portfolio (in addition showcasing dev logs and documentation.)
